I sang through 51 psalms during lockdown number 1 in 2020. As churches were shut, choirs were unable to sing and congregations were missing out on the music that enables them to access their faith through singing. I hope that I did my small bit to bring the psalms to people’s homes, and raised almost £2000 for St. Christopher’s Hospice.

Over a year ago some friends and I sang through all 150 psalms of David to raise money for Ochre, an oesophageal cancer charity. St. Cuthbert’s Day was near the start of the lockdown, and I was reminded of him and that he, in isolation off the island of Lindisfarne, would recite the psalms with his students as they walked around the Northumbrian coast.
